I turned 26 this week. That’s such a gross age, it’s not fun to think about. It makes me want to reminisce on my youthful days and all the good times I had. One thing that just came to mind was when I used to play music at bars by myself in college. One time I was playing this set at this loud bar, and I really had it cranked up and was hitting this awesome high note. Everyone liked it...
I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be an Olympic swimmer. It’s sad, but I have realized that I’m just not cut out for it. I mean, I haven’t even swam a lap in four years! I bought a lifetime subscription to Rolling Stone about 5 years ago. Sounds ridiculous, but for 99 bucks I’m going to get every issue for the rest of my life (hopefully they’ll still be making magazines). If I get them until I am 80, that’ll be 6.8 cents an issue. Sign me up. Anyways, about 3 months ago I got an email from Rolling Stone telling me that they are thinking about...
My old pal Adam rolled into town last weekend, complete with wife, two kids, and two dogs. I always learn a few things about life from Adam whenever we get to hang out. Looking at the responsibility he carries gives me hope. Though I’ll admit, it also stresses me out a little bit too. I’m not talking about exactly what he’s done, but the fact that he’s had the guts to do it...
I’m always on the lookout for good design and photography. It broadens my knowledge and improves my own skills. Jazz album cover design caught my attention a long time ago and has since become an obsession of mine. The classic fonts, use of negative space, and color combinations are timeless. They choose pictures that perfectly capture the mood they are going for, then make duotones of them....
We buy things we don’t need to impress people we don’t like.
